Car Audio Forum - Technical Help > 09 Traverse LT1 upgrade

Hello, I am upgrading my new traverse by installing a pioneer avic z110bt, and roof mount dvd monitor. Have you guys done anything on this type of vehicle. I have a pac os4 interface that Im using. The pac tech said that I could retain factory xm, someone else told me no. I am also adding a dc-ac invertor to be able to play xbox on trips. Its a 300w with 600w peak. Should I wire this straight to the Battery? Also, when you do the bypass, can u use the rear camera while driving?( Cant see thru rearview mirror when 13" monitor is down)
Thanks,
Bryan

The pac os4 will work fine, you won't be able to use the chevy xm tuner with a pioneer nav. and bypassing won't affect the rear cam. when ever you shift into reverse your cam will pop right up, just fine. You may need a bigger power inverter, xbox 360's suck a lot of juice, so for sure hook it up straight to the battery. you can use a 80amp relay so that the inverter only powers up with the key, but its main source would be from the batt.

Have you guys tapped into rear cam that from factory that displays in the rear view mirror? Figured no sence adding another camera when there is one in the car already. Only problem is finding where to tapp into video signal.

Thanks,
Bryan

i haven't tapped into the cam on that car. im sure you can do it. it would just be a question of where. the wires coming from the cam probably goto a junction box of some kind. you might want to try tapping it where it goes into the mirror.
