Car Audio Forum - Technical Help > pioneer avic-x910bt bypass

I just watched your video on youtube for the avic-z110bt bypass. Will this same bypass work for my avic-x910bt? Please advise.

I know about grounding the parkig brake wire. I am guessing that the wire he moves in the plug is for the speed wire. I found out that if only the parking brake wire is grounded and the car is moving, the bypass still does not work. However, if you ground the speed wire, then the GPS will not know how fast the car is going for accurate navigation. Portable GPS units use the antenna to figure speed via position. I am guessing that these head units use a speed wire as a lock-out when the car is moving. So, it seems you have a choice while you are driving: watch DVDs or navigate.

no you don't ground the speed sense wire. that yellow wire is an unused mute wire, and we're just moving to an empty pin, that empty pin needs to be grounded with the green "parking brake" wire. the speed sense wire (pink) is optional, the nav will work fine without hooking it up.
