Car Audio Forum - Technical Help > x910bt & dnx6140 clocks
i don;t think either one of them do that. i had a customer bring me cadillac escalade dash parts before and i put them in with his new radio and the escalade dash has a cool analog clock incorporated in the dash.. that might be a cool option for you.. and just to offer mt opinion, i think you'de be much happier with the pioneer nav.
Thanks Doug!
I was able to find a dealer within driving range of me that had the x710bt installed in his personal car. I went down and he took me out to the car to demo it. I loved it and yes it did have a clock up the left corner of the screen when it was powered down. The Pioneer seems like a the choice to me and right now the 910 has a $100 rebate and is about $150 cheaper than the Kenwood 6140. So it's kinda like a no brainer. The Pioneer seemed very user friendly as well. I'll have to take a peek at an Escalade dash when I see one.

oh cool. It's good to know the pioneer displays the clock when its off. that's perfect for you. thanks for the reply. im sure you'll love the pioneer.

OK, this might sound kinda silly but I am very tossed up between the Pioneer x910bt and the Kenwood dnx6140. They are such similar units it's almost impossible to make a choice. What I am concerned about now is probably gonna be the decising factor as to which unit I buy, so here goes...
I own a '03 Chevy Silverado. When I turn the key to on, the time is displayed on my radio in blue/green led no matter if the radio power is on or off. So if I have the radio totally off and I’m driving or sitting in a parking lot, I always know what time it is. Very important feature for me because I work for a railroad on trains and my life is run by the clock. No joke.
So what I want to know is does either unit afford me this option? When the radio is powered down and my key is on, be it engine running or not will the time be displayed on the black screen? Is the clock on either unit always visible when the unit is on?
May seem like something trivial, but it's crazy how important this faeture is to me.
Thanks, Dave
