And either Ext cab or Crew acb. I want to get a JL 8W7 cause I LOVE the way they sound. Specially in a ported box. But I just wanna know if it would be possible to put it under the rear seat in any way... I was thinkin maybe build a box and mount it where the front where the cone is could go behind the seat, and the rest of it flow under the seat and in a ported box.., Tell me what you think and if you think there might be a possibility of it working. Thankz.  less

I just wasn't really sure if it would really be possible or not, but I love how those subs sound and would really love to have one in it. And I've thought about putting it in the center console, but I didnt know if it would have alot of rattles from it or not,, and also I wanted to try and keep it looking as factory as possible.

Brad Stolberg yea I like to avid front counsole box's, think about having keys or change right above ur subs...and I can understand loving the w7's I have a pair of 10s myself :) and i'd say 1/4 of the subs I install are W7's
      • February 14
    • William Hinton
William Hinton Yeah, which I would really keep anything in the console that would rattle anyway. But I wouldn't think it would sound really good there compared to the back. The factory system's do, but thats a smaller and sub and isnt NEAR as large or powerful as the w7.

under volting an actuator will just make it weaker. you can use a regular motor with a triangular shaped sprocket. that way you can just put it on a momentary button and you wouldnt even need to switch the polarity to close it. you would just need a spring that pulls it closed. that way when the motor turns the tip of the triangle pushes the panel open, and when the sprocket reaches the flat side, it will close..

    :) just an idea

theo, ditch the deck. just use an iStreamer to a bit one... its flawless. adding a deck makes things messy, and you'll never use it once you have that ipad in the dash.. the istreamer from the soundman site includes the 2.1amp car charger.

you can change the dimensions of your vent on the vent tab and see how it changes the response. you're going to want to ad a filter for cabin gain on the eq/filter tab... i'll post again with that information when i get to the shop. you can also do multiple projects on one graph to compair box designs. i always start by entering the manufacture's suggested sealed box for reference. the plot tab lets you change the line color and thickness to make it easy to compair multiple designs on the saem chart.
