I have two 8w3s and they are incredible speakers sound to value wise. you should be good. I wouldn't set you amp higher than 150-200w due to being a "little" larger ported enclosure. Good luck!

You might be able to find a ported enclosure around the 1.75 but the tuning will be in the mid to high 40's (mostly). You can always call a local cabinet builder and ask if they can help you. Be a lot cheaper than having one shipped. JL is pretty spot on with there enclosures. Worse case I'll build you a box and ship it to you for the cost of the wood and shipping (I'm a carpenter, tools and a cast understanding of wood I have plenty of). We all deserve good sound. :-)  less

And the price of something that large just seems too low. I've never use one so I'll admit I'm skeptical just based on all of my reading. If it works for you awesome.

It allows you to gain match amps and , wait for it, match x-over points. Not only could you use two seperate channels of the same amp to run the sub, you could use two freakin seperate amps and match their gains and x-over points. It's pretty bad ass. I figured something uncolored and not "peaky" was what I needed to start my system right. Nice neutral platform on which to build. Either way you can't loose right?

    I, for some reason, totally missed this build log... You have some mad skills and a hell of a lot more time than me Scooter. Seriously i liked looking at the pics to get an idea on how to integrate materials together. I am blown away by the skill and attention to detail. I'm glad Trojan Fan is gone. After reading this whole thing I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. Good job bro! The whole thing was interesting. looking forward to reading more.

    They Ipad has no Firmware for an input signal. Basically there is absolutely no way to do it... unless you hack your ipad2 remove the back camera and mount it out back. Then again you might be able to turn your car into a hot spot and maybe do something that way...or maybe Bluetooth camera might work
