in the topic Box for an alpine type r in the forum Subwoofer enclosures
Are you going to make your own box? I would suggest making a wedge design so the sub has enough space to fit and enough air space, if need be you could fiberglass to try and get the most room.

I would suggest doing the big 3 upgrade to have more current flow to power your system, you can also in addition add a high output alternator. What are you going to be running the highs off of?

you can get better clarity with 4 ohms, but if your looking for bass then 2ohms is going to give you more output.

check all the fuses. interior fuse panel, and under hood. if need be pull the radio out and test to see if you have voltage going into the radio.but its most likely a blown fuse that you might have missed.

honestly the door chimes i don't now why you would lose them, i don't believe they run thru the factory radio. but if they do i wouldnt think it would be a huge deal. depending if your friend cares.

well you should be able to use a metra harness # 70-2001 and as far a dash kit it is made by metra also. it should be a 99-2004 for a single din or a 95-2004 if your doing a dbl din

you can build a box similar to the one soundman did in the Buick riviera, port it thru the deck lid and have them face out or toward the back seat but if remember right there is not a folding seat or cup holder to see the subs, so you might want them facing out, or could make a plexi back to see the magnets.,

any of these sets of speakers would sound great. just like George said as long as your amp signal isn't clipping with everything tuned it will work great

both sets of components will be under powered only running at 50 watts rms and type r is 100rms, the polks are 125rms, they are both great speakers, personally i would go with the type r i like the sound quality better,

yes you would need to reverse the polarity on one of the woofers and wire the other normally to create a push pull. you cant check out the12volt.com they have a lot of how to about wiring.

well boston is a good company but i don't know if they would be considered the best, as far as the rear you could just do a set of coax factory fit, like Doug would say the rear is just fill any ways.

in the topic how to start up a shop? in the forum General Discussion
try and get as much knowledge as you can because the whole industry is always changing with new updated products and proper interfacing with newer high end all the way to your most basic vehicles, see if there's a shop you can work for (or already might) and learn as much as you can, you dont want to have customers cars in the shop and theres no way to figure out how finish them beacause it wouldnt end up looking good for your buisness This post was edited by Joe Giallombardo at October 13, 2011 6:28:03 PM PDT
