It will be a Silverado, 2003-2006. And either Ext cab or Crew acb. I want to get a JL 8W7 cause I LOVE the way they sound. Specially in a ported box. But I just wanna know if it would be possible to put it under the rear seat in any way... I was thinkin maybe build a box and mount it where the front where the cone is could go behind the seat, and the rest of it flow under the seat and in a ported box.., Tell me what you think and if you think there might be a possibility of it working. Thankz.  less

Mike Strasser For a ported box, the specs call for a 1 cube box tuned to 34hz. It would be close, but i think you'd be able to get it under there. Worst case scenario, you could just stilt the back seat up an inch or two.

The issue you may run into is the depth of the woofer. Personally, I'd extend the front center console all the way back and downfire the sub that way. Might be easier, but not as stealthy.

Doug Bernards you can always raise the seat a little if you need to.

Brad Stolberg I've put an 8w7 under the back seat in a Crew cab silverado classic...you should be good with the right box design

And I've thought about putting it in the center console, but I didnt know if it would have alot of rattles from it or not,, and also I wanted to try and keep it looking as factory as possible.

Brad Stolberg yea I like to avid front counsole box's, think about having keys or change right above ur subs...and I can understand loving the w7's I have a pair of 10s myself :) and i'd say 1/4 of the subs I install are W7's

William Hinton Yeah, which I would really keep anything in the console that would rattle anyway. But I wouldn't think it would sound really good there compared to the back. The factory system's do, but thats a smaller and sub and isnt NEAR as large or powerful as the w7.
