I installed it this morning and quickly made some setting adjustments. It sounds really good. I'll have to play with it some more but I like it's compact size it weighs and seems smaller than the previous PDX-5 model. I think overall its a nice alternative to the HD900/5

I just bought the PDX-V9 and should be installing it this weekend. I'll let you know what I think of it afterwards. Initially though I would say it is a nice alternative for less money, but the size of the HD series amps are unbeatable

Can we post pictures in threads like this? I would like to take the door panel off Tuesday night when I have more sound deadener in and then get some tips on areas to focus on. I kind of feel I should just layer it up all the way across though to eliminate as much space as possible between the door panel and door frame

Yeah I have them at -6db and I have a frequency on HU crossover turned down one notch. I liked those type x tweets, but they crapped out on me, because I had a poor connection so they were going in and out and one just blew.

What do you mean by exterior skin? What are you getting at? That the panel is a softer quality so its more susceptible to vibration?

Right now I have a layer on each front door of Fat Mat extreme, but clearly it's not enough I still have a lot of vibration in the door panels when I play songs with reasonable to greater amounts of mid bass. I was told by a local shop installer I can build up the deadener by applying more. I bought two Dynamat Xtreme door kits and I was thinking I would use an entire kit on each door. This way I can really build it up compared to what I have right now on there. I have a 2001 Accord sedan. Would this be the best method to go about it? I should have the deadener Tuesday, so I just want to plan my attack before then

They have -6db as well, but its not the type x tweeters I'm using I'm running some Rainbow (Sound Line tweeters)

I corrected it with some EQ, but I think I'm done spending money for this budget set up I have now. Won't have this car too much longer to keep putting money into it

I have the Pioneer AVIC-X930BT. Right now they are in the doors faces across towards each other. So they are closer to my head from the factory location which is way up by the back of dash and windshield. I'm not moving them though since I cut wholes in door panels to place them there. I haven't messed with any EQ settings yet, but I guess thats something I should do first before looking into L-pads

My Rainbow tweeters are really bright and seem to be much louder than the 6-3/4 Type X midbass speakers I have in the front doors of my Accord. I know I can go active and just run my rears (which are turned down anyway) off the deck, but is that the only option? Are there any other options to adjust my tweeters? Yeah I was looking into JL models. I actually have a tear in the vinyl around the current tweeter in the door panel. I could eliminate that tear all together if I buy a new set of tweeters that including the mounting piece measure to about 2.5" so currently that's kind of what I'm entertaining I just have to find a good set of tweeters that big

My price range is from $50-200. Right now I have the tweeters that come with the Alpine SPX-17REF components but one is crapping out and honestly the one that is working, I'm not impressed with either

How do you set a line driver gains and then the corresponding amp gains and at what volume on HU

I think it will fix my set up though because everything will be the same in the car except for the new HU with a lower pre-out voltage. The sound quality isn't as solid either because there are less audio settings/smaller EQ. But in terms of the noise I hear, the AudioControl should work. I'll find out Thrusday or Friday

Yeah i probably should have got one of the AudioControl line driver/EQ/processors but I just bought the line driver. I guess I can go get the AudioControl EQS down the road if I want to improve the sound more. I probably will, but I'll look to do that around Xmas. Barry, when I had the Pioneer DEH-P9800BT there was no noise essentially at all. This 2.2V is a noticeable difference (worse)

Because I love the features of this AVIC-X930BT, but in terms of sound quality that Pioneer DEH-P9800BT kills the AVIC. It also had 5V pre-outs though and a 16 band equalizer built in.

I was looking at the Audio Control Matrix.

I was wondering if getting a 6-channel line driver will help some of these newer stereos that have low pre-out voltage.
