  Hello all, first post&topic.

  I have a question for all the 700bt owners out there. Received this unit new & unopened. My question is, do any of you have a problem with the touchscreen being unresponsive while the unit is cold?

  Example: It's a cool morning say 60 degrees outside, if the car has sat overnight, it takes about 15-20 minutes for the screen to respond to touch. The colder it is outside, the longer it takes for it to respond. If i go out to my car and it's 75-80+ degrees outside, the unit works fine as soon as it boots. It has been this way since day one of install over 2,1/2 yrs ago.

   

  IS THIS JUST MY UNIT? Is, or has anyone had this problem, I have searched almost every forum I can think of, googled, metacrawled, asked jeeves, live'd, and yahoo'd. I'm stuck.

   

  I know the 700BT is kind of the base model of this series, but sometimes it's just silly that I have to wait for my head unit to "thaw" before I can use it.

  Also, If anyone wants it for their 700bt, I have custom 3.0 firmware that eliminates all warnings, and does the bypass internally instead of the physical wiring trick. Sinn6

   

  Cut's boot time even more that the 2.XX update. It's modeled off of the 3.0 FW for other untis

  Nope, not just your unit. It's called the FAIL-Series for a reason, haha. The F-series were AWFUL! The response was garbage and even when it recognized the touch, it took forever to actually do anything.
  
  Boot up time was awful too.
  
  This is coming from a Pioneer source unit fan.

  Well, I'm actually ok with the response time now that it is running the 3.0 Hybrid FW.
  So I'm looking to upgrade and my wife really likes the look and feel of it, what unit would the forum reccomend from the pioneer line to upgrade to? Is the thawing a problem in any of the other series?

  Not really. The new units are rather fast, one of the fastest, if not the fastest UI on the market (not counting the new ones yet as I haven't gotten to play with the 2012 units yet).
  
  X930BT (or new X940BT) is the 6.1" nav unit, or the Z130BT (or new Z140BT) is the full 7" nav unit. I have 2 Z130BT's (one in my car, one in my g/f's '11 MCS) and 2 X930BT's (one in my g/f's daily and one in my mom's car).
  
  Both are great units, but it depends on what you want as far as features.
