As far as the fuses they need to be as close to the battery as possible
Distro blocks should be as close to the amps as possibel to use less of the smaller guage and more of the bigger one, but as long as everything is symmetrical on the positive and negative side, except fuses, then your good...but the less wire length the better
Alternator needs can be determined by looking at your amps current draw at max musical power, and more amperage/current is always better it means less voltage, more efficiency, and less heat for your amps...amps with regulated power supplies can usually get by on stock charging systems with "the big 3" unless you've got more than 3 in the system or 2kws on bass, but adding a battery can usually solve problems with regulated amps
