Hi Guys, i just want to seek for opinions, for the past years i've been a big fan of the 90's bad ass amps. as we all know it, they are totally underated usually at 11.5v to 12v.
i used to be using Orion the hott setup 2.50, 2.75 and 2.125 the i shifted to RF DSM's then a lot more after those...
currently i am using 90's Kicker 200si, 500si and x50s competition amps. US made and straight from stillwater, what i love about those are its superior clarity, harmonic distortion numbers and the power that they produce (way more than what they publish). they are some quite of a bulletproof for i am using the x50 to run my peavey raw bullet tweeters, 200si to run my cadence raw mids, and my 500si to run 2 12" infinity m3d kappa perfects.
so anyway, recently ive been thinking of trying out something new. i am considering sundown audio, 1 SAX-100.4 4 channel and 1 SAZ-1000d mono amp.
my question is, to compare my amps with the sundowns, will it be better for me to change?
will i get the same performance or even be better if i change into sundowns?
space on the vehicle doesn't really matter. 1 thing that matters to me is the amp's performance (clarity+power), and the longivity of the amps no matter how loud i go.. thanks in advance soundman.
Not a direct answer but might help you in your decision making process. Im kind of in the same boat as you.
I saw a post on the SMD forums about some Sundown amps being tested on good electical (battery bank and good alternator) and it seems like people were impressed with the power you can get out. I think that even some of the tests had the amps running really low loads. Even shows video's of the testing.
