i'm trying to get an ipad install in my car and trying to peice information together.

i want to install a bit one to process all the audio in my car from the ipad to the headunit. i have a couple questions:

1. If i connect the bit one to the HU, will the outputs on the headunit be audio processed? For example the Aux jack in front of the HU or the Pioneer Rear Ipod cable?

if yes, Anwser #2

2. which is better sound quality, Istreamer to bitone OR Istreamer connected via a RCA to Headphone jack cable connected to the headunit aux jack located at the back of the HU. also of course HU to Bitone (second option is so i dont have to use the audison controller and use the HU to switch between all my sources.

Last question...If i have 2 highs 2 mids 2 bass speakers connected to an Aftermarket Amp with a one or two subs running in the trunk and of course the ipad install. I know the bit 10 is cheaper with less inputs. can it support all thats mention above?

For the best sq, you would run the I streamer into the Aux input on the BitOne. Using the Aux on your HU between the I streamer and BitOne defeats the purpose of having the I streamer.

The BitTen or BitTen D supports a 2 way active front stage + sub, or F+R+S.

thanks brad for the reply....Istreamer is just there to connect to the bitone or HU so i can put it in a custom dash...but how much sq is lost if i run it through the HU and does the bitone process the HU outputs? and can you put the bitTen description in lamen terms. can i do it with my setup?

Theodore, I think your a little confused on what the istreamer does. It takes the digital signal out of your iPad and converts it to analog. The same thing a headunit does, but the istreamer is a cleaner and stronger analog signal. So you either do headunit or istreamer. No need for both.

Henry is correct...the I streamer is a digital to analog converter with high volt per outs,

Like I said before...Using the Aux on your HU between the I streamer and BitOne defeats the purpose of having the I streamer.

The BitOne is like a home theater receiver for your car if you will. You plug all your sources to it then it processes the signal and controls the volume before the signal goes to the amps.

As for the active 2 way front stage + sub in laymans terms, a 2 way consists of a tweeter and midbass driver for each side and running active means that your not using the passive external crossover but using 1 channel on the amp and DSP (BitOne, ect...) per tweet and midbass, giving 4 channels for the front stage plus 1 or 2 for a sub, in the case of the BitTen it only has 5 channels, so 1 for the sub plus 4 for the front stage or front plus rear.

I think the upcoming Pioneer Deh-80PRS might be a better option for you, it would eliminate the need for the I streamer and another head unit and has similar DSP capabilities to that of the Bit Ten...plus it auto tunes itself

I decided to get an istreamer in place of a deck with my iPhone. I will let you know how it is. With rhe Bitone. Brad, on a separate note i decided on the hertz hl70

will i be able to connect my ipad to it with charging capabilities and control music from the ipad and not the HU...cause my friend has a headunit from pioneer that when you plug your iphone in you have to control it from the HU

Sounds like your best bet would be an istreamer with a bit one or bit ten

I'm not 100% sure, but it's supposed to have "passenger iPod control" which unlocks the accessory attached screen on the iPad...no charging is the only thing you'd loose, but honestly the ipad will last all day if your carefull about having the screen on, and this is a way cheaper alternative to the istreamer bitone setup

I'm excited! But Theodore, the istreamer does charge. I think an in streamer with a bit ten D would be perfect for you. Or as brad said that pioneer unit is supposed to be bomb

theo, ditch the deck. just use an iStreamer to a bit one... its flawless. adding a deck makes things messy, and you'll never use it once you have that ipad in the dash.. the istreamer from the soundman site includes the 2.1amp car charger.

thanks doug. i was thinking about going that route but i figured i'd go with the pioneer stage 4 HU since i need a new HU anyways while includes i hear a sick as DSP all for 1g. and i learned how to integrate the istreamer to the head unit to allow charging for the ipad...all i need is a custom dash for a s2000. you guys seem the best in the business, how much to get one done with a motor from soundman?

The BitOne is a better DSP than the Pioneer P99RS IMO

@doug...Sometimes I wish I still had AM/FM in my iPad car...but that's all I miss

it might be so..but i realized just upgrading my speakers in my 1997 camry to the bottom of the line pioneer speakers made a huge lovable difference..and my new car with a little bit of dsp and mid level to high quality speakers will make it bomb...unless the difference between the P99RS and bitone is like having ipod headphones on vs dr dre studio beats

to add to this doug, how do you control the volume is it just on the drc or do you use one of the inline rca volume controls ?

I know I'm not Doug, but if you have the Bitone then the drc works for volume

Well im notdoug either, but Yup the BitOne become your master volume controller...any input to the bit one needs to stay at a constant volume otherwise it changes the EQ and distortion point

If you want highest sound quality, and don't mind going complex, you can do what I am and use the hdmi connector($40) going Ito hdmi switcher with toslink out($50) and toslink into bit one. That way its all digital.

Have you gotten that working through the hdmi switch box? If so which box are you using I've tried 3 different ones and can never get them to work, so I started using old hdtvs and taking them all apart, but the camera connection with the turtle beach usb to toslink adapter works great but without charging

I found a piece called the pure I-20. It is made for iPhone ad iPad charges, video out, optical out and analog out. Also has a remote and is only 80$

Interesting...the only problem is if you need to use the remote to turn it on, that can get annoying, and it runs at 7.5 volts, but I'd love to know if anyone has it working with digital out

i dont think you need the remote to turn on, just there to help. someone posted on another forum that they used it with a bit one. you can get a dock connector extension (they sell at soundman i believe) and tuck it away in the car. i am really interested in it

I need the just need the video out too for my headrest. if it doesent work ill look into the think henry Henry just linked to.
