Car alarm Install

hey i was just wondering anyone knows how to wire up a car alarm to your doors so tht when u open the doors the alarm will go off, and if so plz give me a digram on how too

It all depends on your car. Most cars have a negative door triggers, some have positive, and some are "open." Your alarm brain should have a "door trigger input" wire, and this is what you use. For the simplest installation, you could find the domelight wire, so that when you open the door, the domelight ocmes on and it triggers the alarm. What kind of car do you have? the12volt.com should have your wiring information.

Just be weary of using a domelight as some cars have a domelight delay that will cause the alarm to give u an error chirp when arming.

And no offense, but I don't necessarily think you should be doing this yourself. You may want to check out of local shop that can do it. It seems like you're too green.

But yes, we must know the car.

Ok, so not much info out there on your car. Being a little older, it may have individual door pins you can actually push, if that's the case tap on those and diode isolate on to your door trigger wire, you'll need to test of course with a multi meter, and if you have a system that's tweakable, and a domelight delay, you may have a setting to ignore the initial warning that the "door" is still open when arming the system, but now we're getting complicated, so as Nick said, you may wanna search around for a pro to do your install.

if you do use the dome light wire. you should be able to set dome light delay for arming in the alarms programming, if your car does have a delay. depends on the alarm tho... running a wire to the dome light is an easy way to do it. if you must do it yourself.

Yes, there's always delays that you can set for the door triggers. Some brands do require their programmer (BitWriter - DEI, OP500 - Compustar, etc.), but some manufacturers do not. Be weary of that as well.

A 96 Barina?
I'm blatantly certain that it'll have courtesy light switches in the door, and not so blatantly, yet still pretty certain that the dome light will not have a delay circuit.

My mom used to have an Opel Astra, a slightly bigger car, with most electric underpinnings in common, and the dome light delay was actually added by an aftermarket alarm we got installed.

Personally, I'd check with the insurance company or insurance broker, and ask them if there are any specific requirements for fitting the alarm, as meeting such requirements can give you a nice discount on the insurance premium.

In my native Norway, for example, one requirement is that an aftermarket alarm is fitted by an installer certified by the national insurance certification board, or that the car has a factory fitted alarm that's approved by the same board.
