  Have you used mtx 5500's? Hows they're output. Clean? Solid? I'm looking into buying a pair. (10's) I'm not looking for much, just a solid additive for the deep end. I like punch so hopefully it packs that.

  tight and punchy is a term more geared toward SQ, MTX makes good SPL products, so they hit hard but SQ isn't their strongest area, I think a better single 10 on the same amp would almost be just as loud and sound way better and cost the same

   

  for example a 10" type R on 1kw is what id reccomend

  Type R, always ported...if all you listen to is rock maybe think about a pair of 8s, also type R

  Ok i ordered a set of mtx tr5500's. I would like to know what you would go with if you had the choice of Slot ported or Bandpass. With the random music you listen to which one would you do.

  It depends on budget and space constrictions, I'm a fan of ported over bandpass but a nice bandpass can look and sound really nice
