Hi everyone,
I'm planning an install of a Galaxy 10.1 installation and wanted to get your input...
The tab will be my only source unit, I will be installing a JL Audio HD5 amp, Morel 6.5 Ovation components and i got a Cerwin Vega Sub.
I have to main concerns for this setup:
1. I want to use an active crossover
2. I want to send the audio signal from the tab via bluetooth (so i dont have to plug any wires everytime I get in/out of my car)
For the bluetooth I plan on using something like this and plug it into my crossover after pairing it with my tab ofcourse. My crossover will then be connected to my amp, and my amp will wire out to mids, tweeters and sub.
Other concerns I have:
1. Master volume knob - this is pretty much all I would want up front, I was thinking of getting a preamp equlizer up front and use that for volume control.
2. This is a bit tricky, not sure if its possible at all without getting an additional component - getting the music to mute when I recieve incoming calls.
Another question I have is whether I really need a crossover if I get the preamp equlizer?
Once I get all these questions cleared up I'll get into installation and I'll be more than happy to upload pics/vids of the progress as I go along.
I will be installing this system in a 2010 Seat Ibiza Sport (none of these are sold in the states as far as I know).
Looking forward for you input!
Thanks!

Thanks for the quick in detailed reply... Do I really need that Octave distribution thingy? Can't I connect the tab directly to the bit one? and what about that bluetooth connector I mentioned? I'm low on cash, just the bitone alone would set me $800, the tab is another $600, amp, speakers, wiring, etc. Is there a cheaper alternative to the bitone? Thanks!
Let's see here, it really just depends on what you're after. If you have the tablet or it's a priority over everything else, what you could do is just simply use a 3.5mm to RCA adapter. You can either go right out of the tablet, or the docking station (the 10.1 only) has the 3.5mm jack out as well that you can use if you're going to put it in the dash. From there you can just go into anything. You can use any processor. You wouldn't need the Octava box at that point.
However for the best sound I highly recommend the HDMI output from the docking station swap, or the tab adapter I talked about above. Using that, you would for sure need the Octava box, or something that will conver the HDMI signal to an analog or digital signal. I tried two converters, the Octava which worked with everything, and a different one I bought off Amazon, which did not work. I believe it was only about $50.00.
This one:

To which I was going to do an adapter with to go from a VGA out to RCA for video.

Now if you're not doing video, this may in fact work for you. I believe someone on here used one of these in a similar set up, and it worked for him. You can see there, in the picture above, that it has analog output, and it also has the digital output. I did not try those, but I still have the unit and will be happy to try it and report back as well. I do know, however, the VGA adapter that is pictured DOES NOT work. It just doesn't for whatever reason. I had analog headrest screens before which was why I was trying to go that route, and after doing several hours of research, I ended up with the end result of; it just won't work with an analog video signal and the HDMI. There may be a way to get it to work, but I was ready to move on.
Even with this thing, you could use any processor. I hope that helps!
I'll see about maybe doing a set up tonight with this converter, as well as a better set up with the Octava set up. It may not, however, have video as I don't have my HDMI screens yet and my tv is too hard to take out to the garage! LOL!
