JL Audio 1000/1 - Sub matching..

Hey guys i'm looking to match a sub to my JL 1000/1 but, very unsure of what sub to buy. Ideally, i like 10"s. For response purposes and SQ. My line up so far has been respectfully; Alpine Type-x(1000Wrms), Fi Bl (1500Wrms)and/or Q(1000Wrms) ----- i called a couple of shops in town and one of them recommended 2 to 3 JL w3's and the other recommended 3 Alpine type r's which is basically out of my budget range, im looking to stay under the 300 dollar mark for my sub(s). I am aware of AudioQue and others like RE & DC. I've never personally experianced DC's or AudioQ's. All n all im just looking for advice and direction on which path to go..

The Hertz Mille sub is a beast..I would go with that

go on their website and I think you can find a dealer. If you dont have one in your area, I think you can order them from soundman. I have a hertz hi energy 12 inch DVC woofer...its a beast. But to put 1000 watts i would go with the mille

W3 and Type R 10s are the two woofers that i have experience with. i am personally running 2 10w3 woofers off a jl 500.1 amp (way under powered) and they hit really good and hard. i put 2 type r 10s in my buddies truck and they running off a diamond 1100w amp and they pound and sound great. try audiosavings.com i got my W3s for 150 a peice. make them an offer and see how low they can go their price.

Acendant Audio's HAVOC! Triple stacked motor!My exhaust dude had a jl something, said it was the beast! Now he has a AA Havoc and his only complaint is " It's too loud!! Gunna tear my car apart!!"

2 10" W3's was wayy underpowered by a jl slash 500? those amps are power houses! The w3s took the power!??

i have the j2 series amp not the slash series. it still puts out more than 500w tho

I don't think two 12" W3's (500rms each) could take the power of my jl 1000/1. Tuned low maybe

your amp doesn't need to be on full gain. check craigslist in your area. you might be able to pick up a w7 or a pair of w3's or w6's. they'll most likely be 12's though, not 10's.
